The station is the field arm of an Automatic Meteorological Interrogation Responder and records weather data which it automatically relays to a central station located at Cottage. The equipment, which was designed in Israel for the US Weather Bureau, is being tested for possible installation on remote Caribbean islands. [March 1969]
