Headline Philatelic Exhibit at United Nations Headquarters

Caption Description The U.N. Philatelic Society, in cooperation with the U.N. Postal Administration, is sponsoring an exhibit of philatelic materials issued by members of the United Nations. Here is a picture of Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld (left) and Mr. Bernard W. Kofsky, President of the Society, opening the exhibit this afternoon in the lobby of the General Assembly building.
The exhibit by the Philatelic Society consists of selected stamps issued since 1950 by members of the United Nations; that by the U.N. Postal Administration includes a collection of stamps issued by governments in honor of the U.N.
(The U.N. Philatelic Society, which has 125 active members, is composed of U.N. staff members who are interested in stamp collecting as a hobby; it was established in early 1947 at Lake Success.)
