Headline Refugee Camp at Hellbrunn
Caption Description Eighty refugees who have been living in Camp Hellbrunn in Austria since the end of World War II seem condemned to remain there unless a private campaign or group raises the money to finance their re-settlement. Most of this group have been screened as many as 5 or 6 times by emigration selection missions, and have been rejected for reasons of health or age. Some are able-bodied and can work if they had a chance to move into low-rent apartments. But more than half of the eighty are handicapped and need old-age homes or institutions which could give the life-long care they need.
A refugee, barred from emigration because of TB, shows the X-ray plate to Mrs. Marthe Torkar. He has a job, but no present prospect of a home outside the camp. [No exact date]
