Panama Housing
Caption Description
Hundreds of “squatter” families now living in makeshift quarters in Panama City will be helped to re-establish themselves in new, legally owned homes under a project being carried out by the Republic of Panama. A United Nations technical assistance expert, Mr. Alfred E. Alcock (United Kingdom), has been advising the Government since December 1946 on this resettlement project, part of a broad Panama housing and city planning programme.
Seen here, with Mr. Alcock (right), is Mr. Nicholas Mensa Obuobisa (Ghana) who is doing research in Panama on urban problems and housing on a UN technical assistance fellowship. [No exact date]
