Headline Greece’s Economic Development
The “Isola” Factory
Caption Description The Isola manufacturing company, which was established in 1930, in Athens, is a growing industrial concern.  The firm received a $660,000 loan after the war, under the Marshall Plan; it now employs close to 700 people to manufacture pipes (cast iron, steel, insulated, etc), articles for building equipment, enameled sanitary ware, and electrical household appliance (stoves, water heaters, refrigerators).  In the last 12 months, Isola produced 1,000 refrigerators, 4,000 electric stoves, and 6,000 tons of pipes.
Here is a view of the Isola plant’s electric stove finishing shop.
