Caption Description Sweden today deposited with the United Nations Its instrument of ratification to the Convention relating to the status of refugees, which establishes minimum rights for refugees under the mandate of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, including the right to asylum, to work, to education, to public relief and to freedom of religion. Sweden thus became the eleventh nation to ratify or accede to the Convention which came into force on 22 April 1954.
