Headline United Nations Day Celebration at UN Headquarters 
Caption Description United Nations Day was marked this year at UN Headquarters by the first public concert ever given in the General Assembly Hall. Nearly 3,000 persons filled the hall and millions more in the United States and Canada saw and heard the proceedings on television and radio.  Brief statements were made by UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld, the Assembly President, Dr. Eelco N. van Kleffens; Mr. V.J. Skutt, National Chairman of UN Week for the American Association for the United Nations; and Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt.
