The Arab Refugees
Caption Description
Since the partition of Palestine, in 1948, more than 800,000 Arabs have taken refuge in the neighboring countries. They are the concern of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East. This picture shows a refugee cultivating his tiny garden in the Ain Helweh Camp, near Saida, Lebanon. All the 1,418 families (7,676 persons) in the camp live in tents such as this. [No exact date]
