Headline United Rations Secretariat Celebrates Staff Day 1967

Caption Description United Rations Secretariat staff today observed Staff Day by attending a special performance in the General Assembly building which featured several famous personalities from the concert and
entertainment worlds. In the absence of UN Secretary-General U Thant, Mr. C. V. Narasimhan read a statement on his behalf and later acted as Master of Ceremonies. Making special guest appearances
were: Pilar Lorengar, soprano from the Metropolitan Opera; Mstislav Rostropovich, Soviet cellist; Morgana King, popular singer; The Manhattan Festival Ballet; The Wild Ones, a rock-and-roll group.
The evening dance in the General Assembly lobby featured singer Tony Bennett as special guest star with the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis All-Star Orchestra.

The Manhattan Festival Ballet performs “Pas-de-deuz for four”.
