Committee on Natural Resources Begins Two-Week Session

The Committee on Natural Resources this morning began its seventh session, electing by acclamation Sir Egerton Richardson (Jamaica) as Chairman and adopting its agenda and organization of work. Also elected Vice-Chairman by acclamation was Vladimir J. Filipoff (Ukraine), with election of the remaining two Vice-chairman and Rapporteur scheduled for the Committee’s meeting tomorrow morning, 19 May. The Committee also heard a statement this morning by Bi Jilong, Under-Secretary-General for Technical Co-operation for Development.
