Holy See Accedes to Convention on Foreign Arbitral Awards
Caption Description
The Holy See today acceded to the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards. The Convention, concluded at New York on 10 June 1958, came into force on 7 June 1959. It is designed to ensure that a private agreement to arbitrate will be fully respected by the courts of all countries that become parties to the Convention. It also provides that the party adjudged to have won an arbitral proceeding will not be blocked by legal devices from obtaining the award.
