Caption Description The General Assembly this afternoon took action to deal with the global problems of the human environment, establishing permanent U.N. organs and a new environment secretariat, to be located in Nairobi, Kenya, with Maurice F. Strong as its Executive Director. On other matters, the Assembly asked the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Population of the Occupied Territories to continue its work.
