The United Nations Special Committee on Question of Defining Aggression, set up by the UN General Assembly in December 1967, opened a five-week session in Geneva today. The Committee is expected to conclude its discussions on 5 July. The 35-member Committee, which will consider the question of defining aggression in all aspects - including legal instruments, relevant precedent, methods, practices, criteria and previous debates on this question in the General Assembly – will submit a report on its deliberations to the General Assembly at its twenty-third session.
