UNMIL Supports Garbage Collection Project
Caption Description
As part of a Quick Impact Project (QIP) supported by the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) one hundred young men and women in ten different areas of Monrovia have been given training and tools to manage the waste of their neirbourghoods - predominantly plastic, cans and glass. After collecting and separating the material they sell the waste to local recycling companies.
A group of young people weigh garbage they have collected in their neighbourhood in New Kru Town, a suburb of Monrovia, Liberia.
