Caption Description Activists of the advocacy organization known as ONE brought their campaign for girls’ education to the United Nations on International Women’s Day. The group, which included three young women from Northeast Nigeria as well as actors and activists Robin Wright and Connie Britton,
met with Deputy Secretary-General Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed; Peter Thomson, President of the seventy-first session of the General Assembly; and Peter Wilson, Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the UN. The campaigners delivered a copy of their open letter calling “to get every girl into school and to make sure she gets a quality education once she's there”.
