Kobra Mural on Sustainable Development in Progress at UN Headquarters
Caption Description
A bicyclist observes the new Eduardo Kobra mural in progress at UN Headquarters.
Eduardo Kobra is from São Paulo, Brazil and the mural is a donation from the Permanent Mission of Brazil, tied to the commemoration of the 200‑year anniversary of Brazil's Independence, which took place on 7 September 1822. The theme of the artwork is Sustainable Development, in particular the concept of meeting the needs of the present without compromising Earth’s ability to meet the needs of future generations. The mural is being installed on the west façade of the Dag Hammarskjöld Library Building for three months, starting in mid-September.
