Headline Inaugural Ceremony of Abused Ammunition Sculpture
Caption Description Secretary-General António Guterres (left) and Ann Christin Linde, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, attends the inaugural ceremony of the Abused Ammunition Sculpture.

The sculpture is made by artist Thommy Bremberg in memory of Michael Sharp and Zaida Catalan. Their murder was an assault on the values of the United Nations – an attack on the mission that countless women and men around the world risk their lives every day to uphold, said the Secretary-General. The Abused Ammunition sculpture honours the mission by imagining the sorrow of inanimate objects – in this case, bullets – over the part they play in death and destruction.
