Aftermath of the War in Korea
Caption Description
Inoculation against small pox of the entire populations of Inchon and Seoul will have been completed by the end of October. Korean civilians can obtain their rice ration only on presentation of an inoculation certificate-guaranteeing that no one will be missed in the immunization drive. Mass inoculations are also in progress against, typhus, typhoid and cholera. The entire immunization campaign is being carried out by native doctors under supervision of the Unified Command which supplies the vaccines and medical equipment.
Brigadier General Sams (wearing helmet), head of the Public Health and Welfare section of SCAP in Japan, and Dr. Lionel M. Stuart, public health worker from Canada, second in charge under General Sams, supervise the work. [October 1950]
