At the south-west corner of the United Nations grounds, and linked to the Secretariat Building, is the Dag Hammarskjold Library, dedicated on 16 November 1961 in honour of the late Secretary-General. On the three floors above ground are collections of UN specialized agencies and League of Nations documents, as well as general reference materials and maps. Woodrow Wilson Reading Room is on the second floor. Below ground are a 195-seat auditorium, a periodicals library and additional book stacks.
