Headline
Pediatric Nursing in The Philippines
Caption Description
The Government, with the assistance of the World Health Organization (WHO), has been conducting a project to extend and improve the health services, particularly those that relate to the promotion of health and prevention of disease and the provision of adequate nursing care for children. The programme also aims at establishing closer co-ordination and integration of the promotional, preventive and curative services at all levels. Equipment and supplies have been donated by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
M. Hindo, student nurse in pediatrics, explains the use of various medicines to a 16-year-old mother, whose husband earns four pesos a day.
