Col. Nauri Pamir, Deputy Commander of the Turkish forces in Korea, was killed in action on 5 June 1952. He is the highest ranking Turkish officer killed in the Korean War. This picture was taken during the funeral ceremony, at the UN Military Cemetery in Pusan, as troops pass in front of the flags of the 22 nations participating in the Korean conflict. The Turkish flag is at half-mast.
