Headline 200 Pigs Flown to Korea in First Animal Airlift
Caption Description Two hundred pigs made a flight half-way around the world to do their part in the reconstruction of Korea. The UN Korean Reconstruction Agency (UNKRA) imported this breeding stock to replenish the drastically reduced Korean supply. The Heifer Project Committee, an inter-denominational voluntary society, cooperates with the UN Agency in this project.
Seen here, at Pusan airport upon arrival of the plane (left to right): Mr. Dan Clinton (Agriculture Agent for Harris County, Texas, U.S.A.); Mr. Lee, Korean Quarantine Representative; Dr. Reisinger, of UNKRA; Mr. Dean Rinner, Livestock adviser from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, U.S.A.; Mr. Kong Chin Hang, Korean Minister of Agriculture; Sir Arthur Rucker, Deputy Agent-General of UNKRA; and Lt. Col. Dickenson, of the UN Civil Assistance Command in Korea. [No exact date]
