New York City Police Officers look on as protests are under way against racism and police violence after the death of George Floyd. 
Protests first erupted on 25 May, after video footage went viral on social media of a white police officer in the city of Minneapolis, United States, kneeling on the neck of African American George Floyd, for more than eight minutes, causing his death while in police custody. His death set off a nationwide outcry over racial inequality and police brutality, that have inspired protests in solidarity and against racism all over the world.

During one such raid, Commandos of the 41st Royal British Marines swarm ashore from amtracks 8 miles south of Songjin, North Korea, where they destroyed a stretch of railroad track breaking an important enemy supply line.

Headline Congo (Leopoldville) Encourages "Self-Help" Projects by People 
Caption Description Seventeen community development projects are underway, in the Congo to encourage the rural populace to use "self-help" and mutual aid principles to better their living conditions. The projects were established by the Central Government of the Republic of the Congo (Leopoldville), and the United Nations Civilian Operations in the Congo (ONUC) is also assisting in the programme.

Youngsters watch "animateurs ruraux" paint a new home in Luluabourg. Sixteen new homes were completed in the town through "self-help" methods. Each house required about 600 hours to complete at a cost of 40,000 Congolese francs and consists of 3 bedrooms, 1 living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. September 1963.
