UNKRA's Help to Korea
Caption Description
In 1953, the programme of school construction and educational rehabilitation of the UN Korean Reconstruction Agency (UNKRA) was budgeted at $1,800,000; another $1 million has been allocated for continuation of the work under taken during the financial year 1954. The Agency has already repaired more than 1,000 classrooms, and has built, or is in the process of building, more than 1,800 additional rooms. The materials for construction of the 11-classroom school shown here were imported at a cost of $17,600. This picture was taken during the recess period. [Exact date unknown]
