Helping the Koreans to Help Themselves
Caption Description
With the financial and technical support of the United Nations Korean Reconstruction Agency (UNKRA), voluntary agencies from all over the world are helping to improve the economy and the social welfare of Korean village communities, long cut off from any but the most primitive facilities.
At a clinic built by ""Houses for Korea Inc.,"" a United States voluntary agency, Dr. Joseph Alter (right), of Bellevue, Washington, listens to a Korean woman as she explains her symptoms to him through an interpreter (seated). The clinic is one of many services that the agency, with financial help from UNKRA, brings to the little village.
