Caption Description
This photo shows the first sheets of glass produced by the Inchon Flat Glass Plant being stacked in a storage warehouse prior to packing and shipment. Situated on the waterfront at Inchon, the plant was built by the United Nations Korean Reconstruction Agency (UNKRA) at a cost of $3,629,000 and Hwan 600,000,000 (the current rate is 500 hwan to $1), and has a capacity of 12 million square feet annually. It was officially opened on 30 September by President Syngman Rhee and will be operated by a Korean firm, the Hankuk Glass Industry Company, Limited.
