Launch of Renewable Energy Roadmap
Caption Description
Adnan Amin, Director-General, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), addresses a press conference launching IRENA”s “REmap 2030: A Renewable Energy Roadmap”. According to the report, scaling-up renewable energy to 36% of the world’s total final energy consumption by 2030 is possible and affordable. It would also keep the world on a trajectory consistent with a carbon dioxide level of 450 parts per million in the atmosphere, the widely accepted threshold to limit global temperature increase to two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels by 2100.
