First Round of 2015 UN Climate Talks Begin in Geneva
Caption Description
The next round of UN climate change talks begins in Geneva today, with work continuing to advance the draft text of a new, universal climate change agreement due to be concluded at the end of 2015. Following the annual United Nations Climate Change Conference in Lima last December, the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP) will meet from 8 to 13 February at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. The ADP is the negotiating body tasked with building the new agreement, which governments are due to deliver at the end of the year in Paris.
Pictured are, from left: Manuel Pulgar-Vidal, Minister of State for the Environment of Peru, Marcela Main Sancha, ADP Secretary; Ahmed Djoghlaf, ADP Co-chair; Daniel A. Reifsnyder, ADP Co-chair; and Halldor Thorgeirsson, ADP Director.
