Headline UN Woman Police Officer of the Year Award Ceremony

The award was given to Police First Sergeant Renita Rismayanti (centre left on dais) of Indonesia. Police First Sergeant Rismayanti serves as a Crime Database Officer with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

For over two decades, the Police Division in the Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions of the Department of Peace Operations has developed several initiatives to increase the participation of women across the full spectrum of United Nations policing functions as part of its efforts to enhance operational effectiveness and mandate delivery. The United Nations Woman Police Officer of the Year Award is one such initiative.
