Headline Twenty-Fifth Session of the Commission on Status of Women
Caption Description The Commission on the Status of Women held its twenty-fifth session from 14 January to 1 February 1974 to consider various measures and programmes for the advancement of women and their integration on development.  It recommended, among other things, that measures be taken to ensure that the legal rights of married women are equal to men's; that work on a Draft Convention on Discrimination against Women be resumed in 1976; that adequate information be given to parents wishing to decide freely on the number and spacing of their children; and that a world conference be convened during International Women's Year, 1975, to consider these matters further.  It also adopted a draft resolution about special protection for women and children in armed conflicts.
Seen here are three delegates at the session (from left to right): Mrs. Eugenia Stevenson (Liberia), Mrs. Phoebe Asiyo (Kenya) and Miss Taki Fujita (Japan). [Exact date unknown]
