Portrait of Lionel Alexander Hurst, new Permanent Representative of Antigua and Barbuda to the United Nations, who presented his credentials to the Secretary-General on 23 June.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Hurst was his country’s Consul in Miami since June 1987. From December 1986 to May 1987, he was Executive Director of the St. John’s Development Corporation in Antigua and Barbuda, and from June to November 1986, was Director of Antigua and Barbuda’s Trade Mission in Miami. After holding the post of trade and investment officer from April to July 1985, Mr. Hurst was First Secretary of his country’s embassy in Washington D.C. until May 1986. He was admitted to the Bars of New York, New Jersey and Florida. He is graduated of Brooklyn College, Long Island University and New York Law School. Born 4 December 1950, Mr. Hurst is married and has one child.
