Headline Conference of Parties to Minamata Convention on Mercury 
Caption Description The first meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Convention on Mercury (COP1), convened by UN Environment, took place from 24 to 29 September 2017 at the International Conference Centre in Geneva. The Conference culminated in a High-level Segment (on 28 and 29 September 2017) hosted by the President of the Swiss Confederation, entitled “Make Mercury History”. The Minamata Convention on Mercury, a global treaty that seeks to protect human health and the environment from the adverse effects of mercury entered into force on 18 August 2017.
