Headline Life in the IDP Village in Mopti, Mali
Caption Description According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), 74,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) who fled violence in the north of Mali after 2012 are slated to return home. In Mopti, in central Mali, there are approximately 3,000 IDPs, some of whom have found a new home thanks to the local community. Others are still willing to return to the north, but their economic situation or the lack of security in their home towns keep them from doing so.
