“Luminarium” Sculpture on Human Rights
Caption Description
An inflatable sculpture by British artist Alan Parkinson was opened at the United Nations office at Geneva (UNOG). The walk-through 'Luminarium' sculpture is designed to challenge diplomats, UN officials, school children and communities to think more creatively about how to make the work of the Human Rights Council better understood and applied around the world.
David Chikvaidze (left), Director of the UNOG Library, speaks at the opening of the week-long art installation. Also pictured: Navi Pillay (centre), UN High Commissioner for Human Rights; and Karen Pierce, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to UNOG.
