Headline UN Holds Roundtable Discussion to Mark Anniversary of Kristallnacht
Caption Description The UN’s Department of Public Information held an event entitled, “The Holocaust by Bullets: Uncovering the Reality of Genocide”, to mark the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the 9-10 November 1938 series of attacks against Jews in Nazi Germany and parts of Austria.  The event was organized in partnership with Yahad-In Unum, the leading research organization investigating mass executions and collecting evidence of more than 2.2 million Jews and Roma killed in Eastern Europe between 1941 and 1944.
Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal (third from right), Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information, poses for a group photo with participants at the event (from left): Pamela Falk, UN Correspondent for CBS News; Gillian Kitley, Senior Officer, Office of the UN Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide; Martin Briens, Deputy Permanent Representative of France to the UN; Father Patrick Desbois, President of Yahad-In Unum; and Andrej Umansky, Research Associate at Yahad-In Unum.
