Caption Description A press conference was held at UN Headquarters, via video link with Bamako, on the findings of a recent assessment mission on the damage caused to the cultural heritage of Mali after rebel groups seized the northern part of the country in 2012. Briefing from Bamako were:  Bruno Maiga, Minister for Culture of the Republic of Mali; Aurélien Agbénonci, UN Resident Coordinator in Mali, on behalf of the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA); Lazare Eloundou, Chief of the Africa Section of the World Heritage Centre of UNESCO (UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization); and Richard Zink, Chief of the European Union Delegation in Mali. The briefing was moderated by Ricardo de Guimarães Pinto (second from right), Liaison Officer at the UNESCO Office in New York. At right is Martin Nesirky, Spokesperson for the Secretary-General.
