Caption Description Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon delivers a statement to UN correspondents, expressing his “outrage at the despicable attack"" today against the French magazine Charlie Hebdo. “It was a horrendous, unjustifiable and cold-blooded crime,” said the Secretary-General. “It was also a direct assault on a cornerstone of democracy – on the media and freedom of expression.” Twelve people including two police officers were killed in the attack on the Paris offices of the magazine, according to news reports.
