Caption Description
A woman demonstrates the style of rowing the canoes.
18,000 more people reportedly arrived in Nyal payam in search of safety and security due to the conflict between the South Sudan government and the armed opposition forces. Fighting resumed last August despite a signed peace accord, forcing South Sudanese to flee in search of safety, assistance, and protection, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Together, the World Food Programme (WFP) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) provide assistance with food and nutrition, as well as childhood education.
