Headline
Israeli Stone and Japanese Bell at UN Headquarters
Caption Description
The gifts of two Governments --Israel and Japan- are being combined by workers at UN Headquarters for the final treatment of a small open area directly north of the Secretariat building and west of the conference area. Cut from the hills of Jerusalem, 880 slabs of Israeli stone have been put in place to form the base and setting for the large bronze ""peace bell"" and pagoda-like enclosure shown here, which were donated to the UN by Japan.
