The new coffee shop, with counter facilities for 60 persons, which was formally opened yesterday in the public lobby (first basement level) of the General Assembly building, marking the completion of work begun six months ago on a $380,000 project to enlarge the facilities for visitors at United Nations Headquarters. The coffee shop offers a soda fountain - the first one to be installed at UN Headquarters - and also serves soups, sandwiches, salads, beverages and desserts. The glass-enclosed coffee shop occupies an area of 2,500 square feet.
