A patient gets a blood-test at the combined Norwegian-Canadian Hospital of the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) here. Located in a White-washed, saw-toothed building that was once a hangar in the UNEF Maintenance Area here, the 60-bed hospital is manned by some 84 Norwegians, 32 Canadians and 42 locally recruited assistants.. Patients are primarily UNEF soldiers but the hospital also treats cases sent to it from UNRWA and patients from the local labor staff. It treats some 30 out-patients daily, discharges about 65 patients monthly and usually has 30 beds occupied.
