General Assembly Reaffirms Inalienable Rights of Palestinian People in Palestine, Including Rights to National Independence
Caption Description
The General Assembly voted this afternoon to reaffirm the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people in Palestine, including the right of self-determination without external interference, and the right to independence and sovereignty. The Assembly reaffirmed their inalienable right to return to their homes and property, and it called for their return. In addition, the Assembly recognized the right of the Palestinian people to regain their rights by all means in accordance with the purposes and principles of the Charter, and appealed to all States and international organizations to extend support to them in their struggle to restore their rights. Under a second resolution adopted this afternoon, the Assembly invited the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to participate as an observer in the sessions and the work of the Assembly and all international conferences convened under the auspices of the Assembly.
