Situation in Bunia Calmer; Aid Workers Collect Bodies
Caption Description
The International Red Cross assisted in removing bodies killed during the violence in Bunia and the surrounding areas as the situation became calmer in the past few days. 231 bodies have been counted as killed since May 4, with the expectation the toll could rise as aid workers reach new areas of the town. Among those killed were two UN military observers, nationals of Jordan and Malawi, whose remains were recovered yesterday from Mongwalu, a town 70 km Northwest of Bunia in lturi.
