Press Briefing by Chairs of Security Council Anti-Terrorism Committees
Caption Description
The war on terrorism had not been won and, although both Committees established by the Security Council to combat it had made "significant contributions", individuals were becoming complacent and countries were becoming more casual, press correspondents were told today at UN Headquarters.
Briefing the press on the progress made by the two Committees -- the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1373 (2001) (Counter-terrorism Committee), and the one established pursuant to resolution 1267 (1999) concerning Taliban/ Al Qaeda sanctions -- were the two chairmen, respectively: Inocencio F. Arias (right), Permanent Representative of Spain to the United Nations and Heraldo Munoz, Permanent Representative of Chile to the United Nations.
