Ami Ayalon, retired Israeli Admiral, and Professor Sari Nusseibeh, President of Al Quds University of Jerusalem, visited UN Headquarters to update Secretary-General Kofi Annan on their Statement of Principle for Peace in the Middle East. The Secretary-General applauded their efforts and their courage to find a path to peace, and to move both peoples away from bloodshed and suffering. He said that grassroots initiatives which bring ordinary Israelis and Palestinians together would help to create a vision of a common future.
