Headline Israeli-Palestinian Peace Activists Brief Correspondents at UN Headquarters
Caption Description Ami Ayalon, retired Israeli Admiral, and Professor Sari Nusseibeh, President of Al Quds University of Jerusalem, visited UN Headquarters to update Secretary-General Kofi Annan on their Statement of Principle for Peace in the Middle East. The Secretary-General applauded their efforts and their courage to find a path to peace, and to move both peoples away from bloodshed and suffering. He said that grassroots initiatives which bring ordinary Israelis and Palestinians together would help to create a vision of a common future.
