Caption Description Portrait of Mr. James David Rubadiri, new Permanent Representative of Malawi to the UN, who presented his credentials to Secretary-General U Thant at UN Headquarters today.
Before his present assignment, Mr. Rubadiri served as an education officer and later as Principal of Soche Hill Teachers' College, Malawi, from 1962 to 1963. In 1964, after Malawi's independence, he was appointed Ambassador of Malawi to the United States. he was educated in Uganda and the United Kingdom. He attended King's College, Budo, in Uganda, in 1956. He then attended Bristol University, United Kingdom, from 1956 to 1957, and received a Diploma in Education. From 1960 to 1962 he attended Cambridge University, where he obtained his M.A. degree. Mr. Rubadiri was born on 19 July 1930. he is married and has four children.
