Headline Improvement of Drainage System in Capital of Central African Republic
Caption Description As the population of Bangui grows and spreads toward the marshland center of the Ubangui River basin, the city's inadequate drainage system is overtaxed by flooding during the rainy season. To improve these conditions, the Government of the Central African Republic is being assisted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) as associated participating and executing agencies, in the planning, initial implementation and management of a sanitation and drainage programme for the residential districts of Bangui.
