UNEF Troops in the Gaza Strip
Caption Description
Contingents of four UNEF battalions, totaling about 2,200 men are presently in the Gaza Strip. The Danish-Norwegian, the Indian, and the Swedish battalions are deployed along the demarcation line; the Brazilian battalion guards installations of the UN Relief and Works Agency in the town of Gaza.
A Swedish major briefing some of his men on their duties. The Swedes, who patrol about 6 miles of the line, have posts along the southernmost part of the border and are responsible for Rafah village and its surroundings.
