Headline Security Council Defers Voting on Two Proposals Relating to Application for Membership by Bangladesh 
Caption Description The Security Council this afternoon continued consideration of the application of the People's Republic of Bangladesh for membership in the United Nations. However, voting on the two draft resolutions before the Council on this question was deferred when the Council approved a motion by Sudan to adjourn until tomorrow, 25 August. The vote on the motion was 9 in favour to 4 against (India, USSR, United Kingdom, Yugoslavia), with 2 abstentions (France, Panama).
